Michael (Mike) Hulley

Flight Operations Engineering Consultant

Mike has worked in the airline industry for over 38 years, first as a ground engineer holding a number of aircraft maintenance licences before becoming a flight engineer on large commercial aircraft flying world-wide routes. In 1987, Mike became a flight engineer and a TRI/TRE on the Boeing 747 Classic and he was instrumental in setting up the Airbus A320 Technical Training centre for a large South African airline as well as undergoing training in aircraft performance.

Michael left South Africa in 2003 to join a UK cargo airline initially as a flight engineer on the B747-200 then becoming the Fleet Manager and later the Ground Operations Manager. In these positions Michael specialised in EFB administration, aircraft performance and the MEL and he was also responsible for the company’s Operations Manuals, Part B and Part C.

Amongst his other qualifications, Michael has been accredited as a UK Department for Transport Security Instructor and as a Lead Auditor.
